Three Sisters’ Garden

First planted in 2022, the Three Sisters' Garden is a year-round collaboration with the Onondaga Farm Nation, a 13-acre farm in Central New York. Located on the University campus in the Science 1 courtyard, the Three Sisters' Garden represents the traditional Indigenous method of planting corn, beans and squash, grown together in the same mound in a symbiotic relationship.

Every spring, members of the Onondaga Farm Nation join to help guide the planting of the community garden. Throughout the growing season, students and volunteers tend to the garden and welcome the Onondaga Farm Nation back each September to bless and reap the year's harvest.
