Welcome to Newing College!
New buildings house one of Binghamton's oldest residential colleges.
Newing College is one of Binghamton's oldest residential colleges, but in 2011 we opened with new buildings, co-recreational and programming facilities, and a focus on green living. As all of our buildings are working on LEED certification (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design), we not only enjoy our new spaces, we are educating ourselves on what it means to be sustainable.
Are you interested in pursuing a more global approach to college? Newing's Global Engagement Program (GEP) prepares students to compete in our increasingly multicultural society by offering specific classes on cross-cultural awareness, global issues, communication and leadership skills. Developed to coordinate with any major, this program is available to select international and domestic students.
COIN - Civility. Ownership. Inclusion. Newing.
COIN is an initiative intended to recognize individuals who have displayed one or more of Newing's four core principles:
Civility. Actions in our community affect more than ourselves. As Newing College residents, we strive to be: courteous, polite, tolerant, and respectful to our neighbors.
Ownership. We want our community to have a lasting legacy we can be proud of. As residents, we strive to be responsible citizens invested in Newing College's past, present, and future.
Inclusion. Neighbors that come from a variety of places and backgrounds strengthen our community. We strive to promote a welcoming environment in Newing College that celebrates individual views and values.
Newing. Promoting pride in being a Newing resident!
