MONDAY, AUG. 23

Noon Pizza Party and Meet & Greet in Studio A (Fine Arts 192) - Enjoy some food and meet faculty, staff, and new and returning theatre students! Whether you love the spotlight, backstage, working in the shop, or running boards, we have classes and production opportunities for you!


12:45-1:45 p.m. Acting Workshop in Watters Theatre  - Come play theatre games, do improvisations, have fun, and meet other theatre-loving students with Professor Elizabeth Mozer, director of Triptych: An Experience in Three Acts. Information on acting classes and audition opportunities (THEA 208 and productions) will be discussed here as well!


2:00-3:00 p.m. Musical Theatre Workshop in Studio B (Fine Arts 196) - Let’s get musical with the songs of Broadway with Professor Tommy Iafrate, head of musical theatre and director of In Pieces. Questions about singing lessons can be answered here too!


1:00-3:00 p.m. Design/Tech/Stage Management Open House in our Scene and Costume Shops (B38 and B40 on the basement level of the Anderson Center) - Stop by the scene and costume shops to meet the faculty and staff of Theatre Design, Technology, and Stage Management at Binghamton University! Learn about classes and opportunities in scenery, lighting, costumes, sound, props, and more. For students who are interested in any of these areas and want to learn from working professionals in the field - meet us at the shops!


3:15-4:45 p.m. Dance Workshops (Fine Arts 93A and 104) - David Wynen, head of dance and teacher of jazz and tap, and Neva Kenny, teacher of ballet and modern dance, welcome students to join in learning dance combinations and about dance classes offered this fall. Returning dance students are also encouraged to come get warmed up - and to help welcome new students!

  • Intro Workshop for Ballet is in FA 104, 3:15-4 p.m.
  • Intro Workshop for Tap is in FA 93A, 4-4:55 p.m.

5:45-7:45 p.m. Audition/Interviews for THEA 208 Acting One-Advanced in Studio A (Fine Arts 192) - Please prepare a memorized one-minute monologue from any source for this opportunity. Contact Professor Elizabeth Mozer at emozer@binghamton.edu for an audition appointment and with any questions. The class meets M/W 9:40-11:50 a.m. with Professor Sarah Chalmers. 

THURSDAY, AUG. 26

7:00-8:00 p.m. Voice Lesson Auditions in Studio B (Fine Arts 196) - Are you interested in taking singing lessons? If so, then these auditions are for you. Students will be asked to sing 16-32 bars a cappella for the Theatre Department's singing teachers, Professors Peter Sicilian and Carolyn Amory. Email Professor Tommy Iafrate, with your availability to schedule an audition slot.

FRIDAY, AUG. 27

4:00-6:00 p.m. Audition Coaching in Studio A (Fine Arts 192) - Need a little audition coaching for the upcoming auditions? Get constructive feedback from Professor Anne Brady. Sign up for your time slot in this form. Bring your audition materials, ideas, and questions!

SATURDAY, AUG. 28

4:00-7:00 p.m. Audition Call for Actors and Singers in Chamber Hall - Calling all Bearcats who act or sing! We have audition opportunities for all levels of experience with performing. Our fall productions, Triptych: An Experience in Three Acts and the new pop musical In Pieces will be performed on stage with live audiences - production delivery method is subject to change per CDC regulations.
