Triptych: An Experience in Three Acts

Directed by Elizabeth Mozer
Performing Oct. 21-24, 2021 in Anderson Center's Chamber Hall

Self Help in the Anthropocene by Kristin Idaszak, The Stronger by August Strindberg, and The Jewish Wife by Bertolt Brecht - linked together by live song - combine to spotlight three women in a cross section of time and circumstance. Change comes barreling through their front door or sits next to them in a cafe when they least expect it. What happens when you're forced to leave your home or loved ones? Self-preservation kicks in and bold choices have to be made. These timeless instincts are woven into the fabric that makes us human.

In Pieces

A New Musical by Joey Contreras
Directed by Tommy Iafrate
Music Directed by Robyn Womersley
Live stream Performances Nov. 18-21, 2021 from Watters Theater

In Pieces is a new musical review with a pop-musical theatre score whose emotional sensitivity and anthemic bops explore the romantic journeys of eight contemporary twentysomethings seeking love in the city as they share, ponder, and reflect on their chosen paths and partners along the way. There’s the scary excitement of being vulnerable and boldly saying yes to the adventures ahead. The magical first kiss. Unlikely friendships. Well-kept secrets. Monotony. Rebounds. An awkward reunion on the subway. And honest conversations of deserving more. All these pieces of life at times connect and disconnect, but from a distance they come together to create a universal mosaic of what it’s like to be young and learning in love.
