Kappa Delta Pi (KDP)

Kappa Delta Pi, the international honor society in education, is committed to recognizing excellence and fostering mutual cooperation, support and professional growth for educational professionals. KDP members make up the top 10 percent of those entering the field of education and include award-winning and outstanding practicing educators. For more information, see KDP National’s website.

Binghamton University's chapter, Alpha Gamma Chi, was chartered December 2006, under the leadership of faculty member Jackie Visser. Kappa Delta Pi is always looking for motivated students to participate as officers or to develop program ideas. Feel free to contact TLEL Student Services with your thoughts!

KDP induction ceremony

Each spring, Kappa Delta Pi inducts students into its membership through the Alpha Gamma Chi chapter of the Department of Teaching, Learning, and Educational Leadership. The society inducts only those individuals who have exhibited the ideals of scholarship, integrity in service and commitment to excellence in teaching and its allied professions. Selection as a member of Kappa Delta Pi is based on high academic achievement, a commitment to education as a career and a professional attitude that assures steady growth in the profession.

In Spring 2016, for the first time in the chapter’s history, undergraduate students in the education minor were inducted into KDP.
