The Office of Strategic Research Initiatives helps to expand Binghamton University's capacity to pursue major center-based research initiatives that enhance our national and international reputation. We provide the following services to achieve this goal:
- Connect Binghamton researchers from across campus interested in developing strategic alliances
- Aid the development of research and funding strategies in response to the funding opportunity landscape
- Coordinate large scale proposal efforts
In support of these large-scale proposal efforts, we provide our regular consultation services, as well as customized and facilitated workshops, retreats, and strategic planning events to help proposal teams build connections, determine new research and scholarly paths, and prepare for large-scale funding opportunities. We offer a series of models to meet your team’s needs:
Half-Baked Lunch: A one or two-hour event designed to bring researchers from different disciplines together to discuss initial ideas for collaboration.
Who is this for? Teams or a group of researchers who are just beginning project ideation and looking for initial collaboration opportunities.
Collaboration Catalyst: A half-day event to refine initial project ideas, identify challenges, and better solidify interdisciplinary teams.
Who is this for? Teams with a start on project ideation and collaboration looking to solidify their project idea and team.
Innovation Studio: An intensive one-to-two-day workshop retreat to help research teams focus on a specific funding opportunity.
