Pre-employment background checks
Binghamton University’s pilot program of conducting pre-employment background checks for some positions is underway. This pilot program does not apply to those currently on the University’s payroll, but it does apply to newly hired athletic coaches, resident directors, custodial staff and anyone hired for any position that may handle credit cards or cash. Additional positions will be added in the second phase of the program.
The background checks include identity verification, employment verification, criminal history check, sex and violent offender registry check, educational verification (when required) and license verification including certifications and professional credentials (when required).
