University Center for Training and Development

The Leadership Development program had 38 faculty and staff members graduate from the program this spring, including three graduates who are on staff at the UCTD. The program graduated a total of 75 people in 2014–2015.

The UCTD developed and delivered a series of specialized workshops for Library staff and provided support for the Center for Learning and Teaching’s Distance Learning initiative by holding day-long Blackboard workshops for faculty. The UCTD also updated and administered Compliance Training for all faculty and staff and added both teaching assistants and graduate assistants to the training for the first time. The Administrative Services Union Certification Training, a program developed by UCTD, continues to be popular with 61 total ASU staff completing the training. A Level 2 Certification is being developed due to the success of the first program. The UCTD also presented two paid workshops for the local community at local businesses.

The staff within the University Center for Training and Development continues to advance their training and career development to provide quality training to the campus. All UCTD staff are members of the American Trainers and Developers national training organization. Other professional development for the staff includes the Sloan Consortium Conference, Blackboard International Conference, the American Trainers and Developers Certification Program and the SUNY Conference on Instructional Technology.
