Engaging alumni around the world

The Alumni Association continues to be very active in engaging alumni around the world. In October, the association’s Philadelphia Chapter re-launched with an event that attracted more than 20 alumni. The chapter is already planning several events to take place in the coming months. The Metro New York Chapter, which has established a solid base in the city, has launched a network in Westchester County to meet the needs of alumni who live in the suburbs and want to take part in family-friendly activities close to home. More than 40 alumni attended an event at Google’s headquarters in the San Francisco Bay Area hosted by Jim Bankoski ‘91, engineering director for the company in charge of Chrome Media’s Compression efforts. He took alumni on a tour of the Google campus, talked about the company’s current projects and discussed his background — selling a startup to Google. Also, the Alumni Association sponsored a November event in Shanghai, China, a region that is growing in terms of alumni outreach and recruiting of new students.
