Alumnus makes seven-figure commitment to endow scholarship

James A. Warner ’61 made a seven-figure commitment to establish the James A. Warner ’61 and Judia Warner-Healey Family Memorial Scholarship.

Seven scholarships would be available annually, including:

• Three scholarships for incoming freshmen who are commuter students with a permanent address in Broome, Tioga, Cortland, Chenango and/or Delaware County. One of the three students must be enrolled in Harpur College of Arts and Sciences.
• Three scholarships for New York state residents who are sophomore, junior or senior students. One of the three students must be enrolled in Harpur College.
• One scholarship for an incoming freshman who is an out-of-state resident.

Students must meet additional scholarship criteria, e.g., minimum GPA.

Warner, a retired U.S. Air Force colonel, graduated from Binghamton with a bachelor’s degree in biological sciences. Warner-Healey is his sister.
