Engaging more alumni on social media

Because social media have become an increasingly important outreach tool, the alumni office hired a new staff member to focus on this particular communications stream. Carolyn Bernardo started her work as the University’s alumni engagement social media coordinator in early January, and is working with University Communications and Marketing to produce more content for the Alumni Association’s presences on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. The number of followers is increasing on all three platforms. In particular, the alumni Instagram page has seen a 40 percent increase in followers since Jan. 1.
