Design work continues on this project to renovate and construct an addition to an old factory building to house the Decker School of Nursing. The project is on track to bid for construction in summer 2018. The renovation includes classrooms, simulation labs, offices, advising and conference space, an information commons and public spaces as well as mechanical, electrical and plumbing upgrades. The addition will house classrooms, a lobby and an elevator/stair tower. Completion is anticipated in August 2020.

Science 4 Phase 1 renovation

Installation of metal panels that improve Science 4 energy efficiency is nearly complete. Work inside includes painting and flooring installations in offices and labs. New mechanical systems testing and commissioning will be underway soon. Site work will occur as weather permits. Furniture deliveries will begin later in the spring. The project will be complete in summer 2018.

New parking lot

Once weather allows, work will resume on this project. A drainage system was installed and retaining wall constructed last fall. Bases and wire for light poles are in place. A base course of asphalt was also completed. It is hoped most of the remaining work will be completed prior to Commencement, though some work for a drive to the parking lot is planned following Commencement.

Seneca Hall renovation

Finishing work is advancing throughout Seneca Hall. This includes painting, flooring and ceiling installations. Plumbing fixtures are being installed for restrooms and construction work will wrap up in May. Furniture delivery and placement will follow and the building will be ready for students for the fall 2018 semester.

Physical Facilities is also gearing up for summer work:
    • Paving will take place in a number of areas including Bartle Drive, Bearcat Boulevard, a portion of West Drive and the drive to the Institute for Child Development.
    • New flooring will be installed in some corridors of the Fine Arts Building.
    • Lecture halls 12 and 13 will receive upgrades.
    • Work to repair a final section of storm line in the Dickinson Community will take place.
