Construction update

School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences

Furniture delivery and set up is underway at the School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, along with testing of building systems. Work to finalize audio-visual technology is also progressing. Other finishing tasks include installation of signage and cleaning. Pharmacy staff will begin moving into the building in mid-July and classes will be held there this fall.

Science 4 tenovation

The Science 4 renovation is complete. The project provides the Psychology Department with new office space, laboratories, restrooms, entrance and elevator. In addition, the exterior of Science 4 was re-clad and landscaping on the east side of the building outside the new entrance was included in the project. New furnishings are being installed.

Summer projects

Work on summer projects is in full swing. Several roadways are being repaved. So far work has been completed on the main campus entrance, West Drive, the Appalachian walkway, parking lot F in front of the Events Center and Bearcat Boulevard. Work will be completed in several other areas including the old Dickinson community, Hinman, Visitors’ lot and lot W. Work is also nearly complete on a new parking lot adjacent to the main campus entrance.

Campus directories (map)/directional signs are being installed at 10 locations across campus. The work involves pouring concrete bases and installing the post/signs.

New light poles have been placed in the old Dickinson community. At East Campus Housing, repairs to a storm water line are progressing. Breezeways and decking are being refurbished in the Hillside Community. Lecture halls 12 and 13 are under renovation. Many other projects are in process and will be completed by mid-August.
