Town Gown Advisory Board update

In its efforts to positively transform the relationship between its surrounding community (the “town”) and Binghamton University’s academic population (the “gown”), Binghamton University convened its third and final Town Gown Advisory Board (TGAB) meeting for the academic year May 9.

All five of the TGAB’s subcommittees submitted their final proposals for initiatives to implement to improve town gown relationships. Each sub-committees also provided a brief overview of its proposal to the entire advisory board, which had received electronic copies of all of the proposals prior to the meeting to prepare for an inclusive, lively and productive discussion.

The TGAB Executive Committee will review all proposals this summer, and co-chair Randall Edouard will inform all members about what direction the board will take to implement any of the proposals prior to the beginning of the fall 2018 semester.

It was an exciting first year for everyone involved on the advisory board, and the TGAB hopes to ride the wave of its collective enthusiasm to promote continuous quality improvement, production and positive growth.
