University community makes impact through Alumni Global Day of Service

More than 400 alumni and friends participated in the fourth annual Alumni Global Day of Service, April 27-29. The 41 alumni-led and independent projects included serving meals to the hungry, cleaning animal shelters, installing smoke detectors and cleaning parks. Alumni engaged in service in 13 states and three countries. Bringing alumni together to serve their communities within a designated weekend demonstrated what volunteers can accomplish when they turn out in large numbers, and reinforced that there are Binghamton alumni all over the world. In addition, current students led nine projects in the Greater Binghamton area, which attracted a total of nearly 300 volunteers.
