Institute for Genocide and Mass Atrocity Prevention holds inaugural conference

The Institute for Genocide and Mass Atrocity Prevention (I-GMAP) at Binghamton held its inaugural conference, “Frontiers of Prevention,” April 13-14, at the University Downtown Center.
Participants included scholars and prevention-focused activists and practitioners from organizations around the world.

With initial funding from a generous, anonymous donor, I-GMAP was publicly launched in April 2017, to bridge the gap between scholars and practitioners, and to leverage expertise from a variety of disciplines with the goal of more effectively preventing genocide. Its singular focus on prevention makes the institute unique in the field of genocide studies.
